Wellness is at the core of our Innovation school! It is important for children to have daily outdoor play! With all the snow and rain this week, our playground and field areas are very wet, and students' clothing and shoes may be coming home damp. We are making our best efforts to help students by reminding them to avoid the big puddles and keep as dry as possible. As you can imagine, this is a tall order when almost 400 students are playing outside every day. We really appreciate families and caregivers assistance with sending a change of clothes to school every day just in case your child gets wet. Shoes, socks, and pants are especially important to send in your child's backpack.
If your child has come home wearing clothes that you don't recognize, it is almost certainly because they received these from the nurse's office. We are doing our best to help students who are feeling uncomfortable when their socks, shoes, or pants are wet, but this week the demand for these items has been greater than usual. Please send these clothes back to school after you wash them, so we can keep our closet stocked. We are starting to run low on socks and pants! If you have clothing at home to donate to our nurse's office, please contact Nurse Jana with the sizes you have and she will let you know if we can use them.
Thank you again for your support and for helping us to keep everyone playing outside as much as possible.
