It's Almost Time For School!

September 9 is the first day of school for students in grades K-3. School hours are 8:48-3:45. We can't wait to see you and begin our year together! This edition of the Baker Beat includes lots of important information about returning to school, so please read it from top to bottom. See you soon!

Preschool Start Date and Schedule

Preschool families, it's almost time to start the school year! Our preschool schedule is different than our K-3 schedule.

On Wednesday, September 9, all preschool families are invited to attend orientation: 10:30-11:30 AM for AM preschool students, and 1:30-2:30 PM for PM preschool students. There is no regular preschool class on this day.

The first day for preschool students is Thursday, September 10. The AM schedule is 8:58-11:48. The PM schedule is 1:10-3:40.

What Items Do Students Need for School?

Students at Ezra H. Baker need the following items every day:

Backpack
Comfortable shoes or sneakers
Water bottle
Snack
Change of clothes
Extra layer such as sweatshirt or jacket for cooler weather

The school provides most classroom items such as paper and pencils, but some individual classes may have a specific list. Please check your messages for teacher-specific requests. Student Drop Off and Pickup

Trotting Park Road Access Limited

Student drop off and pickup (non bus riders) occurs in our large parking lot off of Trotting Park Road. Please follow all staff instructions upon entering the lot. We have a large number of cars each day, and have a "curbside" drop off and pickup system. A staff member will greet your child at the vehicle and safely escort them to the building. Please do not park and walk your child into school, as this causes additional safety concerns.

Due to ongoing sewer work, Trotting Park Road is only accessible via Main St. or Center St. You will not be able to turn down Trotting Park Rd. from Route 28. Please follow all posted detours and directions from traffic officials. You can read the Town of Dennis wastewater project updates here.

Popsicles with the Principal Tuesday 9/8 6PM

Join us Tuesday, September 8 at 6:00 PM for popsicles and a preview of our school before we open. Reconnect with your classmates and friends you haven't seen this summer and meet some new students you may not have met!

The school building will be open so you can practice walking to your classroom! Teachers will not be at this event and all classroom doors will be closed and locked so everything is perfect for the first student day!
